On October 17, 2001, there will be a meeting of this group from noon until 4:00
pm. The luncheon will be a working luncheon as we discuss various aspects of e-learning.
Following the luncheon there will be a poster session with posters presented by
members of this group. After the poster session there will be presentations from some KSU faculty concering some of their efforts. The poster session will be open to the general
KSU audience. The preliminary program is shown below.
E-Learning Leadership Team
Fall Meeting October 17, 2001 KSU Leadership Room
Plan: A four-hour program comprised of all the originally invited leadership
team members, along with those new individuals who are currently involved in collaborative
e-learning efforts at KSU.
Approach:
Working Luncheon (12 noon to 1:15 PM)
At tables, beginning immediately at the start of lunch:
- Review "Participant Small Group Summary" from Spring Retreat
- Add any additional items felt appropriate
- Focusing on list & any additional items discuss:
- What are the two high priority short-term areas for E-learning at KSU to be addressed & what would
be your objectives & action plans to achieve them?
- What are the resource implications & "realities" related to your action steps?
- What are your thoughts on implementing the opportunities &/or issues identified from the previous two questions? ·
- Provide flip charts for each table
- Each table identify a recorder & spokesperson
Each table will report their discussion of the 3 designated questions to the
entire e-learning leadership team. Information will be summarized & placed on
website
Poster Session & Networking (1:15 to 2:15 PM)
E-learning team members share their work on initiating &/or implementing e-learning
efforts in courses/programs at KSU. Poster presenters will be available for
discussion. Poster presentations are planned by:

Collaborative extensions of e-learning
by leadership team members & other colleagues from KSU will be shared. Each
presentation group will have ~15minutes to present followed by 5 minutes of
discussion. Presenters will be encouraged to demonstrate e-learning courses
via the internet or other communication software packages to the group. Planned presenters are:

- Matt Laposata, John Pratte, Marina Koether
- Leigh Funk
- George Manners
- Bowan Davis and Jan Flynn
Meeting Wrap-up (3:45 to 4:00 PM)
Leon Combs: Summarizing of day's events. Solicit input as to future endeavors
& directions for the e-learning leadership team.
